Camera Used On This SITE

I started off my first church related website in September 2006, armed with a Fuji Finepix A55. This was very handy, small and lightweight, and stored easily in the pocket. For a small and relatively inexpensive camera, this took some good shots..it was also reliable, and battery life was excellent....but it had its limitations.

The Zoom was pretty basic, and I found that there was a lot of my pictures came out blurred when using the zoom as there was no image stabiliser. The Zoom was also just not powerful enough. For photographs of gargoyles and grotesques, most of which will be pretty high up, it was just not good enough. So the hunt was on for a decent, idiot proof camera, with a bigger and better zoom.

A friend, who works in IT recommended that I buy a Fuji Finepix S5700, and virtually all of the photographs taken on this website will have been taken by that camera.

There is a x10 Optical Zoom, and a image stabilisation, the latter coming in very handy when I am braced at a strange angle trying to shoot something small, high up on a church tower.

I am very pleased with this camera, and am currently re-visiting several churches that I had previously already visited, in order to re-shoot with the new camera.
